Kingdom Come! That's what Jesus taught us to pray.

Uncategorized Apr 13, 2018

We all have so much to be grateful for, don't we? Even when life has its challenges, we truly have the greatest gift of all in our relationship with the King of Kings. As you go about enjoying Life, and pondering all that you are grateful for, let's join our hearts together to pray for those who are yet in darkness.

"Kingdom Come" is about God's desire for the earth to look like heaven. He wants sin, sickness, pain and all the effects of the enemy eradicated and His glory manifested in the earthly realm. That means the church has a lot of cleaning up to do in this world. We know this, yet so many of us allow the enemy to keep us busy putting out our own personal fires all the time and we are distracted from some of the bigger issues.

Yes, change starts internally and we will continue to focus on personal revival and break the power of deception in our own lives. There's no denying that all believers do need to allow God to clean up their own souls, bring healing to our families, and revival to our churches. However, we are not doing that just so we can experience the promise of "life more abundant." We are doing this so that we can become a force and an effector of change in the earth, to allow His kingdom to come. We do this work so that we can rise (and help others rise) to the top of our God-assigned mountains of influence and make a real difference in society. God does want to manifest the promises in and through our lives, but those promises come with great responsibility. "To whom much is given, much is required."

We live in a time when so many people don't believe in God because of all the bad things that are happening in this world. Sometimes even church-people question God's goodness. Sure, we sing songs like, "You are Good," and "Good Good Father," but deep down Christians too can be discouraged about the state of our world. Here's the thing though, social justice is not solely in the hands of our elected officials. It starts in the hearts of a praying church. 2 Chro. 7:14 says, "IF my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, seek My face, call on Me and turn from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land."
